Welcome to the Educating Service Children consultation: April 18 - May 26 2006

"The Committee has now published its report, Educating Service Children, which can be downloaded at www.parliament.uk/defcom.

Drawing on the oral and written evidence we received, as well as the contributions to this forum, the Committee produced a total of 33 conclusions and recommendations for improving the experience of Service children in education.

So what happens now? The Government is duty bound to respond to the report's recommendations within two months of publication (by 6 November). The Government response will make clear whether it agrees with our recommendations and how it plans to make improvements. Where the Government disagrees with us it should state why.

The Government response will be published on our website in due course. In the meantime, if you would like to comment on our report and its findings, why not email the Committee at defcom@parliament.uk. We would be very interested to hear your thoughts."
